The baby house Baphumelele Children's Home in Khayelitsha currently houses about 50 young children aged 5 weeks to 3 years. The House has 4 bedrooms, depending on age, divided, has a large living room adjoins the kitchen and a bathroom.
The 10-square-foot bathroom has a shower, a bathtub, a toilet, two sinks and closets for clothes the baby. The entire device is in normal adult size, which is very inconvenient for the little babies, because it makes the washing of so many children every day. The moldy ceiling already, since there is no deduction and only one window and the smell of the diaper change remains of 30 children in the room. The so-called "Washing Time" at least 20 children are in a bathtub and shower 10 in the back and forth in an absolute mess in which the caregivers try to create order in a loud voice. The diapers of the Children will be changed on the bathroom floor and the general hygienic condition leads to recurrent illnesses such as diarrhea, because it is so impossible to wash each child with a new clean water!
A complete renovation is now the bathroom with 4 children showers, 3 toilets for children, an extra large changing table with sink, a fume hood, and a narrow row of windows provide the showers to a consequence, the hygienic requirements of a bathroom for so many children are just, but also to facilitate the work of the supervisors.
Since we want to make the renovation as thoroughly as possible and want to create a bathroom that is not in a hurry be replaced, we need the help of professional pipes and tile. Preparations have already been made, a preliminary cost estimate is available.

We know that sounds an awful lot to the sum of money, but we are convinced that with this renewal of Baby-bathroom house is an important and lasting improvement to be bringing the hygienic conditions of our young children.
