Last week, Liisa and I asked at the Centro Cultural of Tuxtla to report about our experiences as volunteers. The framework provided an event of our organization Siijuve, was at the head of Rashidah also arrived from Puebla (third picture). Goal is to provide information intended to be natural that more people go abroad to make a voluntary service.
My highlight: I was able to keep the talk in English and had no problems:) I can already communicate more fluently, has changed but the fact that my English is no longer restricted. My English is still not as good English had (this would also include the written component is missing, where I still lagging far behind), but I do not think more while talking. The words just come flowing and it hardly makes any difference whether I speak German or English. It was just great to talk in front of maybe 30 people in English and they can even do some times have to laugh. Who knows, maybe we could even win some even for a voluntary service abroad.
Typically Mexico: Since almost all the guests was in the course of the event eintrudelten (16:00 clock but bid), we had to abruptly reschedule and have a second Round of talks installed at 17:00. (There but still not all were there ...)
In the bottom photo you can see Pablo. Pablo is my contact person of the year was. That is, once I have a problem (illness, family sucks, nuns nerves, etc.), I can say to him, and we solve it together. A major problem even though it never, but it is displaying incredible helpful to have at the beginning access to Mexicans who are familiar with foreigners. The example that is not immediately scream "GUERRROOO" (Eng.: White) as soon as they see you ... but can also be friends.
were absolutely lucky with him is really cool n guy.
